The Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) is a free trade agreement (legally a treaty under international law, but not under U.S. law). The agreement encompasses the United States and the Central American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Dominican Republic, who joined in 2004.

• Duty free can be applied only if it satisfies the "yarn forward  rule of origin" – Qualifying textile and apparel products must be made using U.S. and / or Central America-DR yarns and fabrics
• The types of yarn produced in either the United States and/or the CAFTA-DR region are as below :
  • 100% Cotton
  • CVC (50% Cotton, 50% Polyester)
  • 100% Cotton Slub
  • Cotton Polyester Heather Grey
  • Polyester Rayon Blend
  • Polyester Cotton Rayon Blend
  • 100% Rayon
  • Spandex
• Once the product satisfies the "rule of origin" requirements, all the other processing charges, such as embellishments, prints and washing is duty free as well.

Most Favored Nation (Partial Duty Free)

Duty free can be partially applied to fabrics and sewing threads only if the products are made with the yarns imported outside of the CAFTA-DR region and the fabrics are knitted or woven within the U.S..
